First Day: There are spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and of the Seaward Kaikoura Mountains which rise to 2600 metres (8530 feet). Enjoy the great downhills through tussocks and bush to the Ngaroma Homestead by the sea.

Accommodation — Ngaroma: You can relax around the swimming pool or barbecue, and perhaps join in with a sheep muster. Ask for directions to some 8000 year old tree stumps down the beach or to an old Maori pa site. Or just sit back and enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sun setting on the Kaikoura mountains rising high above the Pacific Ocean.

or Accommodation — Medina: Nestled in a secluded corner of the home paddock, offering insight into the busy farm life on a remote backcountry sheep farm..

2nd day option available: cycle round Medina on the second day walkers track before heading up and over Mt Wilson back to the Staging Post.

Hosts: Sally, David, Peter and Megan Handyside.

Second Day: Two and a half to three hours biking. Start with a gravel road ride to Medina Station, where Sally or David Handyside will offer you a drink and show you the track to the beach. Next is the climb up Mount Wilson, with a lunch hut nearby. From there it’s about an hour back down to The Staging Post.

Price: NZ$85 per person (includes bag transport).

Bookings: Confirmed on receipt of full payment, to be made within 14 days of booking. Pre-season bookings payable first week of September.

Refunds: A 90% refund will be made when at least 21 days notice is given. A 50% refund will be made when there is 7–21 days notice. No refund will be made for cancellations within 7 days of booking date.

Payment: Cash, direct bank transfer, or cheque to “The Kaikoura Coast Track”. PayPal is available for overseas visitors. We do not have credit card payment facilities.
